Dead In The Water
Meaning: If something is dead in the water, it has zero chances of making any progress or of succeeding.
For example:
- I bet his strategy to win this game as the false Sheriff is dead in the water. Nobody’s going to trust him.
- If you unconsciously reveal yourself as a mafia during the “day” – the probability you stay in the game is dead in the water.
